Today, Friday, the government-granted full-length feature film Jolorong, produced by Delwar Hossain Dilu, has been released in around 17 theaters across the country. The film portrays the story of a group of poor villagers who fall victim to a human trafficking scheme while attempting to travel to Malaysia. In exchange for money, several individuals embark on a perilous journey by river. Through their suffering, fate, and eventual deaths, the film sheds light on the contemporary issue of human trafficking.
Speaking about the film, producer Delwar Hossain Dilu said, Since morning, I’ve been receiving encouraging feedback from different cinemas. Many theater owners have told me the story resonates with the current reality of people being deceived abroad. Audiences are witnessing a story they’ve rarely seen on screen.”

The story and dialogues were written by AHM Enamul Haque. The screenplay and direction are by Kabirul Islam Rana.
The cast includes Simon Sadiq, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Elina Shammi, Ushno Haque, Masum Aziz, Farzana Sumi, Farzana Rikta, Rashed Mamun Apu, Ashish Khondokar, Joyraj, Khaleda Akhter Kolpona, and Rasheda Chowdhury.
Jolorong received a government grant in the 2020–21 fiscal year and was cleared by the censor board in 2023.
