Fashion Icon Bulbul Tumpa Earns Praise at Thailand Week-2025
Many successful media personalities have emerged under her guidance. She began her modeling career in 1998 at just 15 years old and is now one of the country’s most respected modeling choreographers. Many in the industry have built successful careers under her mentorship. She also runs a modeling grooming school of her own.
'Thailand Week 2025' was held on the 10th, 11th, and 12th of this month at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital. The event was inaugurated by the Thai Ambassador to Bangladesh, Makawadee Sumitmor. Organized annually by the Royal Thai Embassy in Bangladesh, the event aims to further strengthen the friendly relationship between the two nations.
As always, this year’s event featured various exhibitions, among which the fashion exhibition was a major highlight. Renowned fashion designer and choreographer Bulbul Tumpa served as the show director for the models in the fashion segment.
Speaking to The Daily Bangladesh Time about the event, Bulbul Tumpa said,
“The event ran for three days, with two days focused on fashion exhibitions. I’ve been involved with this event for several consecutive years. I enjoy working here because of the creative freedom. The Thai Embassy allows us to work independently, which I appreciate. Most importantly, the Thai Embassy honored me greatly, and the ambassador himself is a wonderful person. The respect he showed me is a significant achievement. I truly enjoyed working on this. The boys and girls worked very hard to deliver a great fashion show. Even the new models were happy because they had the opportunity to participate in a major event.”
Bulbul Tumpa served as the chief choreographer of Thai Fashion Week, supported by assistant choreographers Swadhin Islam Rony and Soha Islam. Designers such as Jadu and Fatema Tayyebah were among the contributors as well.
Notably, Bulbul Tumpa is a shining star in Bangladesh's showbiz and modeling industry. Over her 27-year career in the entertainment industry, she has, perhaps unknowingly, become a brand in herself. She is known as the “Queen of Fashion” in Bangladesh's fashion scene—a title that has earned her widespread fame and recognition.
While many contemporaries have faded over time, she has remained prominent as the Queen of Fashion. Many successful media personalities have emerged under her guidance. She began her modeling career in 1998 at just 15 years old and is now one of the country’s most respected modeling choreographers. Many in the industry have built successful careers under her mentorship. She also runs a modeling grooming school of her own.
