César 2026: 61 Nominations for 18 Cannes Films
Cannes Best Actress winner Hafsia Herzi’s The Little Sister received 7 nominations, while Thierry Klifa’s The Richest Woman in the World followed closely with 6 nominations.
The French César Academy has announced the nominations for the 51st César Awards. According to an email statement sent to The Daily Bangladesh Times, the award ceremony will take place on 26 February at the Olympia Theatre in Paris.
A total of 18 films from the Official Selection of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival have earned 61 nominations across 21 categories, underlining Cannes’ continued dominance at France’s most prestigious film awards.
Richard Linklater’s Nouvelle Vague leads the race with 10 nominations. The film, which screened in the Cannes Competition section last year, tops this year’s César shortlist. Also competing in Cannes, Dominik Moll’s Dossier 137 secured 8 nominations, a tally matched by Stéphane Demoustier’s The Great Arch.
