Dr.Sabrina Rubin Elevates Bangladesh’s Cultural Presence on the Global Stage

Renowned Bangladeshi poet, author, and lyricist Dr. Sabrina Rubin continues to elevate Bangladesh’s cultural presence on the global stage through her remarkable contributions to literature, music, and humanitarian thought. Crossing national boundaries, her work has earned widespread acclaim in countries including Russia, the United States, and India.
Most recently, a song penned by Dr. Rubin titled “Ekhanei Shob Kichu Shesh Hok” has been released as a music video, featuring vocals by celebrated Indian singer Shubhomita Banerjee. The composition has been arranged by eminent Kolkata-based music director Deb Gautam and has garnered positive responses from audiences and listeners alike since its release on the Deb Gautam YouTube channel. Adding to the anticipation, another new song written by Dr. Rubin and sung by legendary Indian artist Usha Uthup is set to be released at the beginning of the new year.
Equally proficient in both Bengali and English literature, Dr. Rubin has received international recognition for her English poetry collections “Limitless Love” and “Sudden Spring Again.” Her Bengali works “Nishiddho Nirbashon,” “Matrahin Shomikoron,” and “Bihongi”—have gained immense popularity among Bengali literary enthusiasts.
Dr. Rubin is also a pioneer in pictorial poetry and mental health–focused poetry, achieving global reach with these genres—an accomplishment unparalleled among Bangladeshi writers. She is the only Bangladeshi author to have gained wide recognition for poetry centered on mental health and was the first in the country to be honored for pictorial poetry in 2020.
Her influence extends strongly into the music industry as well. Dr. Rubin has worked on Malayalam cinema in India and has written Bengali lyrics for Tamil films. Legendary Indian artists such as Haimanti Shukla, Usha Uthup, and Deb Gautam have lent their voices to her compositions. In Bangladesh, her songs have been performed by Shubhra Deb, Shan Shaikh, and Tasnim Swarna, among others.
In recognition of her outstanding literary and cultural contributions, Dr. Sabrina Rubin has received numerous prestigious international honors, including the Yasir Arafat World Peace Award, Chekhov Bronze Honor, Gujarat Sahitya Academy Award, Motivational Strips Honor, Munir Mezyed Award in Literature, CIPE Award from Tajikistan, and the Rabindranath Samman, among many others. She is also an active member of the highest policy-making committee of the Romania-based international organization Munir Mezyed Foundation.
