With less than a year to go, FIFA has finally announced ticket prices for the tournament. For the first time in history, ticket prices will be determined based on spectator demand.
According to FIFA’s announcement, the minimum ticket price for group-stage matches has been set at 7,200 BDT (USD 60). On the other hand, tickets for the final could cost as much as 807,000 BDT (USD 6,730).
Heimo Schirgi, Chief Operating Officer of the 2026 World Cup, said at a press conference: “Those who live in the host cities or already know where their team will play should purchase tickets quickly, as prices may rise or fall at any time.”
For comparison, ticket prices at the 1994 USA World Cup ranged between USD 25 and USD 475 (approximately BDT 3,000–57,000). At the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the range was USD 69–1,607 (BDT 8,000–193,000). This means ticket prices have increased further for the 2026 edition.
The 2026 World Cup will kick off on June 11 and run until July 19. A total of 104 matches will be played across 11 venues in the US, 3 in Mexico, and 2 in Canada. For the first time, the tournament will feature 48 teams.
FIFA has announced that in the first phase, only Visa cardholders will be eligible to apply for tickets. Applications will be accepted from September 3 to 19. Selected fans will be notified from September 29, and general sales will begin on October 1. Each person will be allowed to purchase a maximum of 4 tickets per match and 40 tickets throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, VIP hospitality packages have already been on sale since May. For eight matches, including the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, prices range from BDT 420,000 (USD 3,500) to as high as BDT 8.8 million (USD 73,200).
Host nations USA, Canada, and Mexico have automatically qualified for the World Cup. So far, 13 teams have confirmed their spots, including defending champions Argentina and five-time winners Brazil.
