Journalist Mohammad Ali Honored by PIB
He is currently serving as the Gouranadi upazila correspondent for the newspaper Sangbad and also holds the position of Acting Editor of the online news portal Daily Bangladesh Time (Bengali division).
Mohammad Ali, popularly known as “Babu Journalist” in the Torqui Bandar area of Gouranadi, has been honored by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) for his outstanding contributions to journalism. Gouranadi, one of the prominent and modern upazilas of Barisal, is home to the historic business and cultural hub, Torqui Bandar, where Mohammad Ali is a well-respected journalist.
With a journalism career spanning over 16 years, Mohammad Ali has served in various leadership roles within the local media community, including two consecutive terms as President of the Upazila Press Club and other key positions. He is currently serving as the Gouranadi upazila correspondent for the newspaper Sangbad and also holds the position of Acting Editor of the online news portal Daily Bangladesh Time (Bengali division).
Beyond journalism, Mohammad Ali is also an active social worker and NGO founder. He is the Managing Director of the non-governmental organization “Target Peoples for Development Organization” (TPDO), which is involved in community development initiatives.
Throughout his extensive career, Mohammad Ali has received numerous accolades and honors for his contributions, many of which have been highlighted in national media.
Recently, he participated in a three-day training workshop on multimedia journalism organized by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), held at the Gouranadi Upazila Parishad Conference Room. The event was attended by journalists from both Gouranadi and Agailjhara upazilas. The closing ceremony took place this afternoon, with PIB Director General Faruq Wasif attending as the chief guest. The session was chaired by Gouranadi Press Club convener Khondakar Moniruzzaman Monir. A total of 35 journalists took part in the workshop.
Speaking about the training, Mohammad Ali said, “It was a wonderful initiative and a valuable learning experience. I thank all the journalists and organizers involved. I believe such workshops are essential, as there is always more to learn and explore in this field.”
