CNG-run autorickshaw drivers blocked both sides of the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway at Banani on Sunday noon, demanding rationalization of route plans for their vehicles.
The drivers besieged the headquarters of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), claiming they would not allow any staff member to leave the premises until their demands were met.

Now, authorities have to allow 2,000 to 3,000 of the Dhaka district-registered vehicles to run in the city to alleviate their troubles, they demanded. However, BRTA has been repeatedly giving them "false assurances" to fulfill the demand, they alleged.
