No intention to hide info about children: ISPR
In a press statement issued this afternoon, the ISPR director said that any media outlet can investigate the death if they want.
Amid the widespread rumours on social media regarding the death toll in Uttara plane crash, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said that it has no intention of concealing any information about the children.
Rumours about the death toll in the Milestone School and College plane crash are spreading on social media widely, with many people believing the rumours without knowing, Lt Col Sami Ud Dowla Chowdhury, director of the ISPR, said on Wednesday.
In a press statement issued this afternoon, the ISPR director said that any media outlet can investigate the death if they want.
Soon after the accident, the Bangladesh Army responded swiftly with utmost effort, without any preannouncement, as it usually does, he said.
“We have no desire or intention to hide the death toll of our children. I was present at the scene myself, along with a team of the ISPR,” he said, adding that as the director of the ISPR, he clearly announced that any media outlet can investigate the matter.
Apart from the media outlet, any respective organisation can inspect the scene, he said.
“We are prepared to extend our maximum support and will fully assist you with any of your needs in this regard,” he said in the statement.
