Dr. Moniruzzaman Shahin, the hospital’s deputy director, said that 10 patients recovered and were discharged within the last 24 hours. “With the new admissions, we are now treating 50 dengue patients at the hospital,” he added.
According to the hospital’s public relations department, a total of 1,206 dengue patients have been admitted this year. Among them, 1,135 have recovered and returned home, while 11 patients have died.
Noting that the number of dengue cases is gradually declining, Dr. Shahin said most of the patients admitted to SBMCH are residents of Barguna district, where the number of cases and fatalities is the highest.
